Marilyn Lee weaves an interesting tale of two souls in the same body, in a different world with different rules, and the ultimate of forbidden pleasure. Hunter is a wonderfully detailed and intriguing being. This story is the first in Ms. Lee’s series The Quest. Definitely, a great start to a series.

Return from Exile - Mary Winter

Yelexian military Major Rina Corvalano had a great career and a wonderful boyfriend named Ter. Just by “following orders” and doing her job, her entire life changes in one night- she saves the emperor from his murderous son, destroys her career, loses her love, and gets exiled from her home planet. Now three and half years later, she has picked up the pieces and pilots space cargo ships. The last thing she expects to come into her life is Ter.

Ter has come to return Rina to Yelexia. Although he regrets his decision to not support Rina at her trial and wants her forgiveness, he is on a mission to bring Rina before the High Council to readdress her exile. Can Rina forgive Ter? And will she be able to return to her home or will her sentence be death?

Mary Winters captured the varied moods and emotions exquisitely. Rina and Ter were both extremely strong people with strong emotional ties and equally strong sexual attraction. This was a wonderful short story and well worth the read.

The Offering - Christine Warren

Eve Cartwright is a major in the Protectorate Security Force and is facing a disciplinary hearing after she injures a fellow officer. Although he deserved it, Eve knows that she is on the verge of having her career crumble before her eyes. A commanding officer, who has tried his best to destroy Eve, offers up a different solution to the committee. He suggests that Eve go under-cover as a sex-slave to infiltrate a rebel leader and space freetrader named Michael Taggart.

Christine Warren’s distinctive style and biting humor is very apparent in this short story. Ms. warren had you increasingly amused at Eve’s less-than-enthusiastic metamorphosis into a nitaral sex-slave. This was a sexually- charge humor-filled story that should not be missed.
