Andrea’s friend Tina helped her survive a difficult adolescence. Andrea’s stepfather abused her, and Tina and her brother Tony helped remedy the situation. Now Tina is gone, beaten to death by an abusive husband. She has placed her adorable baby Bobby in Andrea’s care. Tina’s husband Angelo is out to get Andrea and the baby. He has mob-like connections, and Angela is on the run.

Handsome cowboy Tanner first notices Andrea at the airport. She is way too young for him and obviously a terrible (inexperienced) mother. But he is intrigued, and ends up taking her to his Montana ranch. Angelo’s thugs shoot him, and Andrea stays on to help him recover. She does not know the real cause of his injuries. He does not know the true story of her “motherhood.”

This is a wonderful story. The sweet nature of Tina’s baby turns Andrea almost instantly into a wonderful mother. The infant immediately brings out Tanner’s paternal instincts. Neither Tanner nor Andrea wants to become involved romantically, but their physical attraction, and the needs of an adorable child, make their union inevitable.

Tanner is a wonderfully strong, sensitive hero. He starts with more child-rearing information than Andrea, but she catches up readily. The writing is clear and concise, giving an accurate picture of all the characters and the Montana ranch. Several ranch hands and a handsome medicine man add to the list of appealing characters. The lovemaking is both sensual and sweet. The characters are believable and the plot satisfying. This is a truly enjoyable story.
