| Daisy Leak, aged 27, made reservations at Bedlingham Manor for a mystery
weekend. She was scheduled to take part in a Sixties Murder Mystery Summer
Extravaganza in the stately English home, turned specialty hotel. She went
with a suitcase of 60s type clothing to wear-too bad the gathering was for
people who were sixty or above. Once there, she was cast as a nun who was
killed during the first dinner party.
Jake Weston was the hotel manager, the second son of the Duke of Bedlingham. His older brother, Adrian, had managed the hotel for 6 months and now was Jake's 6 months. Whoever ran the business the best would be in charge of it after their father died. Jake's one big problem was he loved women and his father insisted that he give up his wayward activities while running the hotel. That worked well until Daisy appeared for the weekend. The chemistry between Jake and Daisy was explosive and became the basic storyline of the book. The graphic sexual scenes were definitely not for the faint of heart. The book did, however, have a good plot and the characters were solid, believable people whom it was impossible not to love. The secondary characters, Jake's brother, father, step-mother, and Jennifer, the receptionist, were very important to the story and very well written. Ms. Barbara Elsborg did a good job of developing the story into a book which would be not only good, but easily read. It was hard to put it down. The problems she introduced to her characters were serious but handled well. It ended better than I expected and I was glad to have read it. I highly recommend it to anyone who likes a highly sensual love story. If you enjoy Fairly Tales, even the dark ones, like I do then you will like Goblin’s Bride!
