Corey, a handsome cowboy wrongly accused of a crime, spent twelve years in prison, yet his love for the woman he thinks put him there never subsided. Tiffany, the woman of his heart, was actually wrongly accused, or at least misunderstood as to her part in his incarceration, yet she harbors guilt for her cowboy’s time behind bars. When he is given his freedom and returns to the state and town her daddy essentially owned, and her dead husband governed, Corey finds that there’s more to the story. Much more.

This short is well-developed and easily carries the reader through from beginning to end. While it teased with a promise of heavy sexual content, the author managed to relate emotion behind the sensuality in a way that satisfied any expectations and relayed the most meaningful part of the love connection between Corey and Tiffany. Characters are believable, though I found them a bit too predictable. There is a child in the mix, and he was alternately, step-by-step, distrustful, argumentative, borderline rude, then agreeable and loving . . . in all the expected places. Very few surprises in the storyline. I’d recommend this story for a pleasant, quick read – a nice dessert morsel after a heavy day at work.
