It helps that the man that runs the clinic is gay, just like Connor. They've been lovers for a while, but now the shine is beginning to wear off and Connor is realizing that Pierce is not the love of his life. After a rough morning, he's decided to break it off with him, when he gets a call to go out to deliver a baby. When he gets done with his duty, he has an accident that sends him off the snowmobile and unconscious. When he wakes up, he's in a whole different world, at least that's what he thinks.
Adam is a native that still lives like it is one hundred years ago. He has been waiting for his mate for a long time, and is relieved that the waiting is over. He's a skin walker, and for him the wait has been lonely and painful. Now that his destined mate is here, he can't wait to get started. But will Connor, a thoroughly modern man, be willing to stay with him? I thought that the characters in this story were very well written and it had my attention from the first page. I really liked Connor, he's a good man that is lonely himself, looking for the right person to complete him. The story captured me from the start, and I couldn't put it down until I was through. Out There In the Night is definitely a keeper, and I will be putting Laura Baumbach on my auto buy list.
