| In Pleasure Maid, by Crickett Starr, Prince Gall is living in a luxurious prison with few visitors. Dina shows up at his door one night and stays, but is she too good to be true? This is a well written story of a man and a man made woman who fall in love, but Dina turns out to be much more than the ordinary Synth. She was originally sent to seduce and assassinate him, but a technical difficulty allows her to think for herself and become a real person, great story.
Tempt Me Twice, by Renee Luke, is the story of a married couple who lose sight of what really matters in their marriage, each other. They each think that the other one is having an affair, Toya actually has divorce papers in the trunk of her car. They think that hot sex will bring them back together, which makes great reading, but really need to communicate. Werewolf in L.A..,by Mariann LaCroix is set in Hollywood during it’s Golden Age. A scream queen B-movie actress is starring in a movie about a werewolf. Contractually she has to date the goodlooking but otherwise useless costar. He seems to think that she should do more than date him and she is saved by the movie’s stuntman who also plays the werewolf. They have an immediate and strong attraction. What Estelle does not know is that in this case art is imitating life; Jack really is a werewolf. This is a very erotic story with strong characters and plot. Daphine, the novice priestess of Priestess of Desire, by Mary Wine, must lose her virginity in ritual fashion in order to take her final vows. Prince Sethe, the oldest son of the king and the only man she has ever been attracted to gives her a night that makes her question her commitment to being a priestess. Sethe gradually realizes that he has found the woman that he wants as his queen. This is a well written tale, combining a really good story with scorching sex scenes and a little humor. In Summer Lovin’ by Shelley Munro, Sophie, while on a trip with her father and Uncle James, meets Isaac, a local restaurantuer and former boyfriend of her newly married daughter. They have always been attracted to each other, but the age difference was just too much of an obstacle, but now a holiday romance is in the cards, and maybe more. This is a wonderful story of a woman not yet forty who begins to live again with a very sexy younger man. A reality show of the future is the plot premise for Interplanetary Survival Episode #495, by Tielle St. Clare. Katya and her boyfriend Jessup are on a team which is in line to win the game, but they are at the edge of a forest which they are forbidden to cross. The border is guarded by huge cat/human hybrids. Obsessed with the game and uncaring of Katya’s feelings, Jessup sells her for a night to the leader Bach. Even though the relationship has been dead for a while and Jessup’s only focus is on the game, Katya is furious and decides to go through with the deal. She definitely does not regret it. Bach leads them through the forest and an encounter with some very interesting aliens. I loved this story and am amazed at the author’s imagination, humor, and sense of justice. This is an awesome collections of stories. Each and every one of them is well worth reading, not one dud in the bunch. I especially enjoyed Werewolf in L.A.. , and Interplanetary Survival Episode #495, but every single story in this collection is a keeper.
