Duncan Malmayne and Moira Dunne immediately recognize each other as bond mates and are ready to seal their bond, but something is missing for both of them. Moira finally figures out what's wrong between her and Duncan and how to fix it. Jaden Blackthorn removes himself from the situation to allow Duncan and Moira time to complete their Claiming, even though it breaks his heart. When he returns, he finds out his absence hurt them all when Moira explains their tribond. By acting on their love and sealing their bond, the three of them may be in more danger than ever.

Though a tribond is rare, the opening scenes of this story make it pretty clear that one exists between Jaden, Duncan, and Moira, even if they don't know it. Moira and Duncan both feel something is missing as soon as Jaden leaves so they can complete the traditional Sidhe Claiming. Jaden's attempt to do the honorable thing by taking himself out of the picture says a lot about the type of character he is. He willingly puts the happiness of those he loves above his own happiness. Duncan and Moira's determination to make Jaden accept their tribond upon his return illustrates their love for him and their conviction they all belong together, no matter the consequences. The scenes between all three of them are both tender and extremely steamy and will leave readers cheering them on.

This is the second book in The Gray Court series by Dana Marie Bell. It is important to have read the first book in the series to fully understand all the nuances of the plot outside of the relationship between Jaden, Duncan, and Moira. Though the acceptance and building of their relationship is the main focus of the book, this story advances the continuing plot of the series, which deals with the Malmayne clan's machinations to grab power by forcing a Dunne male into a marriage with a Malmayne female. Ms. Bell has written an enjoyable story full of interesting characters that will leave readers anxious to read the next in the series.
