Diane, surrounded by her best friends, was moving into a new apartment. Diane worked as an insurance claims adjuster but her desire was to be a wife—a stay-at-home wife. She wanted to nurture her husband, cook and clean, and do the mundane things most of us never aspire to do. She didn’t value herself because she had been dumped by her fiancé for a career woman. That still influenced the way she looked at men. The chemistry she felt when she was near Trigvey was an unusual feeling for her.

Dr. Trigvey Taylor had just started a career change of his own. He had sold his apartment furniture and all. He had nothing except eight suitcases and boxes. He had a short timeframe to settle into his place before having to report to the emergency room at the local hospital for a several-day shift. He stored his boxes/bags in Diane’s apartment because the tenants in his apartment were still not cleared out. When he went to work, overly tired and frustrated, he lost a patient.

This is my first book by Alice Aubrey. I enjoyed her writing style and the mood of her book. Her characters were emotionally charged and believable. The storyline was sweet and delved into the baggage both main characters were burdened with. The diversity of Diane’s friends was comical, yet so effective. They played a great part in the overall book’s happenings.

The chemistry was electric but vaguely written. That proved that a book can handle sensuality without being explicit. I recommend this book to anyone. It was a pleasure to read and I shall look for more of her work in the future.
