Just after the vision Brenna is drawn to the woods just outside her property where she comes to the to the side of a tortured and obviously dead body, one she knows all to well. The spirit of the body attempts to contact her but he is no more honest in his death than he was in his life.
Sheriff Ty Buchanan knows the second he sees Brenna in the woods by the body of a local no-good businessman that she is the one meant for him. Instantly he knows that if she dies so will he and he will do anything to protect her, even if she does not need it. If they can somehow trust each other's innate magic enough they may just survive the evil that has come to town. Ms. Morgan has created a magical and very suspenseful story. Some of the characters from her first book make an appearance, so it is highly recommended that the series be read in order so that story is complete. A great addition to what is becoming a very magical series!
