| Vesper Highgate-Adaire came from the proud Mooncusser clan, a young girl ready to follow family tradition. Yet one dark night many many years ago a great evil came to their proud shore and because of their defiance, they were cursed to be Shadow Lovers for all time. They fed on blood and sexual energy to sustain them and their hunger would never abate.
Time made the other members of the clan decide to go elsewhere in the world but Vesper stubbornly refuses to leave. She stays behind to look after the family's holdings and to wait for the return of the dark one who cursed them in the first place. She decides to open a bed and breakfast as a romantic getaway where she's certain to get all the sexual energy she could ever need and make her life easier. Not that she doesn't enjoy getting her sustenance in more intimate, personal ways. But once again, great evil is headed Vesper's way. Along with a sexy hero who has ties to the Cove of his own. Will Vesper's stubborn streak be her destruction? Will she find a love of her own beyond the nightmare? Mooncusser Cove is different from anything I've read in a while and that's a good thing. The author told this tale with authority and made me believe it from the beginning. Her heroine is intelligent, stubborn to a fault, and engages in sex with nothing short of absolute glee. The characterization in this story was very strong but I particularly enjoyed the heroine. The sensual scenes were frequent and frank but blended into the story as prescribed making the plot flow very well. There were dark moments in the story, some that will stay with you after the tale is read, but it's well worth it. Ms. Foster has a unique writing style that calls to mind the classics. Mooncusser Cove is a fast-paced, intense, and darkly erotic read. Don't miss it!
