Task Force Zeta’s B.B. Dalton was the boyfriend of Katie Jorgenson, Emily Price’s boss. Katie and Emily had run a campaign for the Special Operations Force in the military with Dalton being the never-forgotten military model for their advertisement. Katie and B.B. had become a couple and were now expecting a child. This made it imperative that Emily take the assignment which came up needing a spokesperson/model for the U.S. Army. This model was proving hard to find. That is, until B.B. Dalton stepped in and helped out his girlfriend, soon-to-be-wife.

Staff Sargeant David “Hawk” Hawkins lost a bet to B.B. Dalton and his special ops unit. He was required to work with Emily as the Army model for their latest campaign. Although this did not set well with Hawk, he was honor-bound to live up to his bet. And when he and Emily met, the sensual explosion was palatable. Neither was able to resist so they ended up spending one night together before Hawk deployed to Afghanistan. His three previous tours in Iraq had not quite prepared him and his troops for their newest assignment.

If Cat Johnson has ever written a bad book, I’ve never read it! She is an amazing author who writes as an authority on military and civilian service personnel. Her attention to details is amazing and, from my limited knowledge of military protocol, right on in her prediction of these circumstances.

Ms. Johnson has written a poignant, emotionally-charged story of a group of soldiers who were faced with the trauma of being away from home and dealing with the terrors of warfare. The alpha male characters were so believable; it seemed that they were actually visible to us as we read. The supporting characters were such a hit that it actually seemed that we were in the middle of the war. The sensual scenes were explosive but did not override the storyline.

I, obviously, love Cat Johnson’s books. She has, again, written a winner. You’ll be thrilled to read it. This is definitely Johnson at her finest. I wholeheartedly recommend you read this book.
