Charlotte Lamb knew the consequences of giving in to temptation, especially when her love chose to marry her cousin, Katherine, over her. Now, with child, her father sends her packing. The new home will be temporary until the birth of her child, but a man from her past arrives, trampling her heart once more. Milkweed Manor is nothing compared to her home and lovely garden. Assuming the role as Charlotte Smith, Charlotte makes new acquaintances, especially with Dr. Daniel Taylor but it is Charles Harris who pays a visit stealing her heart. Charlotte hasn’t forgotten how Charles broke her heart by marrying her cousin. When he insists he care for her son, since she is not as well off as he, Charlotte is none too happy about giving up rights to her son, Edmond . As the years pass, Charlotte , Daniel and Charles are thrown into a whirlwind of events that seem to make them stronger as they choose their paths to follow.

Lady of Milkweed Manor is a mesmerizing read. I simply adored this style of writing. Not only is it refreshing but the drama pulled me in, breathtaking with every turn of the page. The emotions that Charlotte felt for her son really grabbed hold of me. There were many times I just wanted to pull her close and hug her. The decisions she makes for survival is so realistic. All the believable characters are in-depth and truly made this read superb. I like the theme of the story with the pregnant unmarried woman and what she endures when an outcast from her family. Julie Klassen does a remarkable job in penning this classic tale. She embarked on some facets I never really considered. Bravo to a talented author! She creates a gem of a read.
