Koll is a huge man and his size has been an intimidation factor with all of the other villagers. He has been travelling to other villages trying to find a woman to stay with him for the winter. On his way back from one of his travels, Shila comes out of the woods and is absolutely exhausted from running. Koll does not know exactly what is going on but he knows that Shila is in trouble and that he is drawn to her.

Koll and Shila are well written characters. They are developed well for the length of the story. The characters are relatable. I really liked them and I was rooting for Koll from the very beginning. I enjoyed the story line and how the story unfolds. There is plenty of action in this story to get and keep the reader's attention. There are also a few little twists and turns that keep the story from being predictable. The sex is explicit and fairly frequent, but not overly so. Emotion grows quickly between the characters as they get to know each other. This was a fun read that I enjoyed. I liked the characters and the way things unfolded and came together in the end.
