The Mask of Truth

Laura Hogg
Paranormal erotic romance

Five friends receive invitations to a party in weird ways. Being young and curious they attend only to be shown things about themselves or each other that could tear their relationships apart.

Ms. Hogg has written a novel of friendships’ boundaries tested, love discovered and almost lost. Cory and Katarina are well written. When they finally profess their love for one another only to have Cory’s jealousy and the darkness inside him push them apart we're sad and frustrated for Katrina.

The writer keeps us reading to find out how the revelations of the mask will work for each person, hinting at disaster, teasing our minds to think that, just maybe, their love and friendship is not deep enough to survive. Each character has to come to terms with something in their past before they can come back to the love and friendship they had for so many years. Each of them must find a strength heretofore unknown in their personality. She keeps us guessing until the end to find out how far they will go to rebuild on the foundation that’s been severely shaken from the strain. To be better this novel would have needed more time to develop the suspense and the characters but it’s still well done and very good reading.
