| Beverley is a powerful woman who is CEO of her company and doing a great job of running it. She’s got a secret though, and it’s in the form of a certain employee that she can’t seem to resist. By day, she’s the head of the company with all the power. At night, she gives that control to Mark, her master. But what will happen when she learns of his secret?
Mark is in love with Beverley, and doesn’t know how to tell her. He thinks that letting her know that will give her too much power and take away the pleasure she feels in his hands. But that’s not the only secret he has. He knows a secret about Beverley’s new best friend that could destroy all three of them. Beverley starts out as a woman who I had a hard time liking and respecting. I didn’t like the constant name calling by both Beverly when she was boss mode and by Mark when he was in control. While I know it was considered part of their relationship I found myself wincing and wanting to put the book down. It didn’t enhance the interaction between them because it was used to much and for some reason didn’t fit the scene even though it was BDSM. I was a little startled at the abrupt turn around in the relationship between Mark and Beverly at first, but as I read on it became somewhat normalized and I understood it better. There are plenty of surprises in this story and there is a lot of BDSM, “forced” sex, and some unusual fetishes. The sex in the story is scorching hot and not for the faint of heart. Mark’s journey to discover himself so he can tell Beverly he loves her does not fit his character at all. It left me wondering whether I was reading the right story. The writing was choppy at times and most of the time Beverly and Mark do not seem to be a good couple. I did think the story was unique and had a lot of potential.
