Jezi and Luke are each uniquely powerful in their own way. When the two meet and feel an erotic pull it turns their world upside down. Finding out the hard way that they’re bond mates help set it right again. It’s a good thing they’re so well-suited to one another. The challenges they face take all the powers they and their friends can muster.

Ravyn Wilde has built a unique tale. She builds her own characters, varying from the standard fare of vampires without a beating heart, without being able to stand daylight, falling in love with someone and changing them. The author gives Luke both a beating heart and a tan to go with his great body. This alone would help make this tale have more variety. Add in a geneticist sister who thinks she can help a vampire procreate with a human. Stir in an evil villain who substitutes sickly babies with healthy ones. Mix in centuries old vampires like Marie Antoinette and Count Dracula.

As if those things weren’t enough, pen in family dynamics that could destroy a relationship before it has a chance to grow. Jezi and Luke both have been loners most of their lives. This sets up some challenges now that they can’t be over one hundred feet away from each other due to their bonding. Ms. Wilde sets up the challenge to them and shows how they find their own ways to cope.

There are so many great characters in this novel, each one adding a unique flavor with their powers, their humor, their help in getting each problem that comes up fixed. If the dialogue isn’t humorous enough some of the slogans the writer comes up with for Jezi’s trademark t-shirts will get you laughing.

This is truly an excellent story filled with fun, evil plots, lots and lots of sex. I especially like the fact that the author isn’t afraid to paint her own characters in her own way instead of just going along with the current trends.
