|Leah Marleston is struggling to survive and raise her two young children after her husband’s death and the subsequent gambling debts he left behind. When two men come calling, Leah fears they may be after money she does not have, but instead, the two men want something else entirely. They yearn to marry Leah.
Valentine Westridge and Kurt Schillig are friends and lovers. After surviving the Peninsular war together, they have come back to England to settle down into a quiet country life. But to make that life complete, they need a wife. When a friend suggests approaching Leah, the men agree and are astounded by the beauty that appears to greet them. Not only is she lovely but she is a kindhearted and understanding woman who does not become repulsed when they explain that they are lovers. While certainly shocked, life has handed Leah enough turmoil that she considers the proposal. And as she gets to know Kurt and Valentine, she discovers that what may originally have been a preposterous idea, marriage, may just turn out to be a miracle of love and hope in disguise.
Samantha Kane is one of historical romance’s most erotic and sensuous voices and she uses her talents well to create three characters that are unforgettable. Valentine and Kurt thought they were complete as a duo, a couple which loved and honored each other. But, when Leah came into their life, they realized that something had been missing and she was it. None of these characters were expecting a love match with the marriage, but wonderfully enough, it happened naturally. The lovemaking in this book is definitely a catalyst for falling in love, but it is the other needs and desires, such as joy, happiness, and laughter that help to bond these three characters into a strong triad, a true union. This is a very explicit story, with several m/m, m/m/f, and m/f/m love scenes, so more tender readers should beware. However, if you enjoy a lusty romance that encompasses the true joys of the heart, you’ll find Love’s Strategy to be the perfect story to pick up.
