| This is a sweet short story that shows that, no matter the obstacles, true love can always win. The heartbreak of a disabled soldier and a young woman who loved him throughout the almost five years he was at war only seemed insurmountable when the young couple allowed their families to view their situation as hopeless.
Julia encountered Simon inside the church where she had prayed for his safety for the past four years and nine months; she did not know that he lost his arm, only that he was injured. Even though the encounter convinced Julia that Simon truly loved her, he denied his affection for her. The following weeks left Julia devastated because not only was Simon unhappy with the independence his family stripped from him, but her family refused to allow her the freedom to make her own decisions. Love's Liberty is proof positive that true affection always triumphs! I absolutely loved this story; the only fault I could possibly voice is that it is too short! Ms. Lesley-Anne McLeod's writing style is impeccable; I can highly recommend this story as a good short read when you only have a few minutes. You will not be disappointed, I am sure.
