| Jade Wellington knows there is more ways to get back at her two-timing husband, Austin, who she wishes was buried under the ground. Even though a great architect in their marriage, she never figured his blueprints to include unfaithfulness. Just as the final step in the divorce grows closer, she wonders what made him choose another woman. David Jackson keeps a keen eye on Jade from his police cruiser certain she is up to no good like all women. Yet just the sight of her makes his heart thunder in his chest. He plans to keep a closer eye on her. Jade knows with the divorce almost final, she has to find work. Austin is tired of the posters that she has placed throughout the town about him, and will pay the mortgage payments if she removes them since they are ruining his reputation. She accepts his terms. Taking on a job stuffing envelopes, Jade doesn't realize her employer has another side job. Things become complicated when Austin is killed and David believes Jade the murderer, not to mention working as a prostitute, on the side. Jade is beside herself when she learns of David's thoughts. The two have much to discuss in the upcoming days as things get hotter for them.
My Lips Are Sealed is a fast moving read. One minute David doesn't want to be around Jade, the next his mind is telling him he is in love with her, and they say a woman can't make up her mind. Nonetheless, I liked David even though he was first uncertain about many things. I thought it showed the human side of him. The characters, needless to say, were quite interesting in all their actions. There are some witty moments that keep the story moving along. I loved the antics of Jade against Austin and the posters. Mia Romano knows how to grab hold of a reader and keep them amused until the end of the story. She crafts a delightful tale that I thoroughly enjoyed.
