| Rosebuds Flower Shop has been in the James' family for three generations. Sadly, the outflux of shoppers from small towns like Crystal Falls threatens to force them to close the store. Laura James is willing to do anything to help keep the business from floundering. Brett Mitchell longs to escape from the town and his overbearing father. He and Laura seem to be at a stalemate. He needs to leave to find his future. She wants to stay. The murder of her brother-in-law throws even more complications into the mix as she tries to clear her name. Will she lose Brett in the process?
Dianne Miley pens a wonderful romance with plenty of suspense. An interesting mix of personalities fill the pages. Readers like me who grew up away from the cities will take a walk down memory lane as both the pleasures and frustrations inherent in small town living are well written. Characters like Myrtle Winthrop and Kate James are sure to remind you of people you've known. The romance of Laura and Brett gives us a great look at two people who, for different reasons, have given up on God. It takes some powerful writing to bring the couple back to the faith they see around them every day. Their journey of love and an awakening of belief in others after years of pain and frustration is refreshing. Each reader may have different impressions about their choices based on where we are in our lives. The author just gives us a wonderful story that will satisfy any lover of mystery with a romance that's very much like real life.
