| Krysta, AJ, and Sophie are as interesting as they come. These three can do amazing things their gifts. Each girl has their own gift and Krysta's ability is seeing and talking to the dead. She thought she had enough problems in her life but things only get worse when a girl ends up dead, her less than stellar father finally decides to take interest, and she still has to find a way to save two ghosts' final resting place from being demolished forever. The start of the school year spells trouble for this fifteen year old with big dreams and bigger problems.
Krysta is the kind of character that any teen reader could love. Krysta is very relateable in the facts that she is insecure, she thinks about boys, clothes, and her friends. While a problem home life is not something every teen can relate to Tara West makes it easier. I am all for some "para" in my normal and this is a book that easily keep me interested. While this is a series that is geared towards teens, Krysta's story is one that I was able to enjoy even though I can no longer claim to be one. The plot was well thought out and varied in emotional ranges. I even found myself getting so into this story that I wanted to laugh, cry, and ache with this girl. I look forward to reading more from Tara West I can only hope that they are not all targeted for teens but if they are I look forward to being able to see what other great ideas she can come up with because Krysta's Curse is the kind of story I would let my nieces' read and I would even recommend it to my friends for their family members.
