| After collapsing from a virulent flu and exhaustion, singer Valli Solo finds herself in the Rolling Hills Center for Recovery. Believing that the visit from Danu 'Warrior Princess' prior to passing out and told that she needs to save a man with her songs, is nothing but a flu induced hallucination. She changes her mind when she meets the man in the room next door and learns of his memory loss. The words of Danu come back to her. And desire so strong she can't resist.
John Dish, as the nurses have named him, has no memory of his life prior to finding himself at Rolling Hills. He has no idea of his real name, his age, and simple things like shaving. He's had to teach himself. The doctors who are intrigued by him and have been unable to find a reason behind his total amnesia. But hearing Valli sing and seeing her stirs him, brings light, hope, and desire into the void that surrounds him. John shows vulnerability and who wouldn't if they lost all their memories and nothing remained? He isn't however, morose. I appreciated that. He's astrong character, refusing to give into what is a frightening situation. Valli is compassionate, sassy, finding something in John that she never thought to find. She is a true Hussy Warrior. Beautiful. Sahara Kelly has created a romance filled with compassion, love, and exquisite love scenes. The depth of emotions that the characters Valli and Jon evoke surround the reader with warmth and are filled with magic. Not in the traditional sense of magic, but I truly felt her words weave a spell of warmth around me as I read this wonderful story. It brightened my day. A marvelous addition to a series that I'm becoming a huge fan of!
