Jessica Beckett and Gabriel Despain were once a great couple but like some relationships things went pear-shaped. Now though, Jessica wants things to go back to the way they were which has Gabe running scared. However, when Jessica finds herself on the receiving end of a law-suit when she's accused of having intimate relations with three jocks in one of the classes she teaches, Gabe finds himself involved in clearing her name. Not that he believes for one moment that the accusations are true. Still, as an undercover FBI agent he'll do anything to help Jessica.

This book which is the second in the Beckett series for this author definitely delivered through both its plot and dialogue, ensuring that it was an excellent story to read. The plot was engrossing and showed what great lengths people will go to for each other. I really enjoyed the dialogue between Gabe and Jessica as well since the heroine would stop at nothing to get her man, no matter what trouble she was in. The sex scenes were very steamy when the hero finally gave in to the heroine's advances. What I liked so much of the heroine was her ability to stay positive, even though the allegations were extremely serious and that she knew there was a good chance she wasn't going to win her case. While with Gabe, I liked that even though he tried to distance himself from Jessica because he thought that she would be a liability to him due to his job that he still believed in her and wanted to help her in any way he could.

Overall, Ms. Martinez has proven herself again with this new edition to the Beckett series and I can't wait to read the next one.
