| Melinda works at a formal wear shop. Halloween is one of the slowest times of the year. Her boss has trusted her with a lot of responsibility in the shop, so when she asks Melinda to deliver a tux to a customer’s home, she can not refuse. She has promised her niece and nephew that she will stay at their house so that their mother can take them trick or treating, so the delivery will be late. When she arrives there is no one home but a huge wolf and after the encounter, she begins to feel a little strange herself. The man who owns the house tells her that not only is she a werewolf, but that she is his mate. Her boss, a witch, set her up for this.
This is a very entertaining and very quick read. The author wastes no time getting to the important points of the story. I felt sorry that she was tricked into being turned into a werewolf by a boss she trusts, but the older witch at the end makes sense of it all. The scenes with the werewolf are eerie and exciting and Melinda’s romance with Connor after the bite is very well written, he is an alpha who has difficulty with romance. Given the choice and a real introduction Melinda might have made the decision that was taken from her, so it takes a little for her to accept her fate. Melinda and Connor are attractive strong willed characters. Rachel’s character is less likable. This is a very enjoyable werewolf tale.
