|Rhys Morgan has been dreaming about Amy Bennett being in danger. As an Immortal warrior, his dreams aren't just dreams, they're premonitions, and it's his duty to protect Amy from the danger he knows is coming. When Amy appears in the alley where he's fighting a demon, he realizes there's more to it than just protecting her. Amy knows she's not the only one feeling the intense attraction between them and can't figure out why Rhys is fighting so hard against it. They both have to figure out how to deal with it and the thing trying to kill them.
From the very beginning, this book is packed with action and emotion. The moment Rhys realizes it's Amy in the alley, he knows things are about to change. The connection between them is hot, intense, and explosive. The way they are drawn to each other is palpable and the heat whenever they're alone together sizzles right off the page. They both have protective personalities, Rhys because he's a warrior with centuries of experience protecting humans from demons and Amy because she's a doctor with her twin brother as her only family. Their need to protect each other speaks volumes about how deep and immediate the connection they feel for each other is. However, neither of them were prepared for it and they both fight against it in different ways.
Though the relationship between Amy and Rhys is the focus of the story, the danger to them and the rest of the Immortals keeps readers turning the page. The other Immortal warriors add depth to the story by showing that Rhys isn't as much of a loner as he appears to be. There is never a dull moment in this story, even though a few of the revelations early on make it seem a little predictable. This is definitely an enjoyable read and will have readers looking forward to the next book in the series.
