Lannie Michaels could not believe it when the man she thought she loved accuses her of making a pass at one of his friends. He did not even listen to her denial. He had already made up his mind. Well she has had enough and decides to head out to a small town called Nowhere. There she hopes to put her broken dreams and heart ache behind her and spend time with her art of sculpting.

Kyle Sylia knows he has made a mistake, especially when he goes to apologize to Lannie and find that she has disappeared. After looking everywhere he finds her in Nowhere, but she is not all he finds. There is a werewolf serial killer on the loose and now instead of using all his energy to win back his mate he must find a way to stop the killing.

Lannie does not know that Kyle has been keeping secrets. So when she starts to notices some changes in herself and learns that Kyle is to blame she becomes mad enough to attack someone. Especially if that someone is a tall, arrogant, male werewolf named Kyle. With her in danger from a serial killer and her body changing into something from nightmares, Lannie feels she has lost total control of her life. Kyle is definitely going to have his hands full for awhile but then again he deserves a little trouble.

Howling in the Moonlight by Brenda Bryce is a spine tingling romance and horror mystery that will keep the readers on the edge of their seats. The suspense continuously builds as an unknown killer goes around ripping innocent people apart. Anyone can be the killer and everyone is suspect. Readers will find themselves constantly trying to guess who might be able to commit such crimes. The killer enjoys stalking his victims’ delights in their terror. His continuous taunting of the victims will have chills running up and down the readers’ spines. Fear builds steadily throughout the story as it becomes known that he has marked Lannie as a victim. Readers that enjoy a mystery and like being scared will find just what they are looking for in this story.

But things are not all scary. There is also the romance where Kyle has come looking for his mate, Lannie. Kyle is arrogant and at first he will anger the readers with his presumptions. He really deserves to be taught a lesson and someday I hope Lannie gets the chance. He eventually will be better understood. This is a man with a huge amount of pressure and responsibilities on his shoulders. The romance between Lannie and Kyle progresses at an unusual rate and with some very interesting consequences. There is not much that can be said without giving too much away. But readers can look forward to a highly passionate romance filled with many steamy sexual encounters.

This is a werewolf romance unlike any I have read before. It is filled with imagination and creativity. Brenda Bryce has created a culture and history for werewolves that will fascinate the readers. The story alludes to many exciting things coming in the future especially with the werewolf hunter Donovan. There is something else going on in the town of Nowhere that leaves me anxious about what is going to happen next. What is it about the sheriff? Oh well, like everybody else I have to be patient as I wait for the next book in this exciting series to be released. So while I’m waiting I encourage you all to read, Howling in the Moonlight by Brenda Bryce the first in the Going Nowhere series.
