When Joe Russo, the co-owner of The Oasis, a floundering Las Vegas casino is murdered, his daughter "Diva" Eva must gather together her blood family to help her save her father's legacy from "the family". Eva is positive that it was his captain, Dave 'The Sheik' DeSantis who ordered the hit and she isn't about to let him have everything her father worked so hard to obtain. She just wants to protect her baby brother from her father's gangster lifestyle. Plus she wants to be known as more than just a mobster's daughter and the fiancee of "Guinea" Vinny, so she is trying to launch her own artistic career.

If you are looking for a fast and funny mystery, fuhgedaboudit, this is the one for you. Full of wiseguys, capos and made men this is an entertaining Las Vegas mob mystery. The characters in this story are what made it so enjoyable for me. I'm not sure if either Eva or Vinny are what you would consider likable but they are very realistic, in a raw New Jerseyesque way. All of the cousins are fabulous, full of quirks and family loyalty. The assorted hookers and gangsters added to the atmosphere. Blue Lou's crass behaviour cracked me up! I loved it. The story itself was a roller coaster ride, I just didn't know what to expect next! My big pet peeve is that I hate when books start at the ending and then go back to fill in the story. If I wanted my books to start at the ending, I'd read the last chapter first. This is the first book I've read by this author but it definitely won't be the last. I can't wait to check out the earlier works involving some of the other characters in this book. This is definitely one I'll find myself rereading and chuckling out loud at all the crazy antics again and again.
