Highland Dawn, the third of the series of The Druid’s Glen novels, is definitely the most detailed of the series. It is more intense and introduces new characters, each of which brings new concepts to the storytelling.

In 1607, when the Sinclair clan was slaughtered, the three daughters who were foretold in prophecy to secure the world through their druid abilities were scattered throughout the land to keep them safe. Moira, the oldest, always felt responsible for the other two. She grew up believing that she had to do everything alone and, as she grew up, she became more adamant that she needed no help. She was raised by Frang at the Glen. Her constant guard was a druid warrior by the name of Dartayous; they constantly fought. (When we romance readers read about a couple who hate each other and/or fight all the time, we know what to expect, right?)

Finally reunited with both her sisters, there are many unforeseen problems; both younger sisters had already faced their destiny and found her soul mate, and now it was time for Moira’s journey. This journey focused on the matter of trust and how Moira and Dartayous were required to trust each other not only to face their fears, but to conquer them. Ms. Donna Grant did another exceptional job writing this novel. The couple was in constant danger as they traveled and The Evil One seemed to become more powerful as the story progressed. Ms. Grant used every facet available to impart the whole story. It is absolutely amazing to me that she was able to maintain this cast of characters so efficiently without giving so much information as to be confusing.

This story tells so much and definitely succeeds in pulling the other books together into a wonderful series. It astonished me that this book, or series, based on magic could be so compelling. Highland Dawn definitely brings the conclusion of the series to a thunderous climax! I heartedly recommend this series to anyone who loves magic and romance.
