| Lord Waryn Landelle, Duke of Lysky, and his army, including his friend and closest knight, Sir Jacob, arrived back to his castle in the last few minutes of his Aunt Alice’s drawing for St. Valentine’s Day; despite his misgivings, he received the name of Miss Sibil Carlisle. He was supposed to wear her name on a ribbon tied to his arm for a year! What a mess! He was furious and told her to get rid of the offensive crowd. She did not pay any attention to him; he was not surprised!
Immediately he realized Sibil was interested in him, her father was adamant that she would not belong to the Duke. She was to take her vows for the Church and become a nun and Sir William intended for her to honor her commitment. How this love story played out was a beautifully told story by Ms. Marissa Alwin. She has an interesting way of allowing the story to flow through the actions of an entire group of people and yet zeroing in on the coupling of the Duke and Sibil. The actions of his family, as well as those of hers, made differences which seemed insurmountable actually become stepping stones to the overall outcome of the book. Ms. Alwin has done an excellent job of presenting this plot, as well as an unlikely ending, in this quick love story. She has written a tale which is not to be missed. Heat on His Sleeve is an ideal, feel-good story for anyone!
