| Nigel and his friend David have been following the band Thrill Seek around the country. Lane Carter and his band have lived up to the popular belief that bands do nothing but have sex and do drugs but lately he’s gone a few steps past that with the vampire Duriken.
What a twist to a theme of groupies and their adoration for performers! I think the author does a great job setting up the story and dealing with all the odds and ends that help make a tale seem more realistic. The boys discuss their lack of funds and how they’re dealing with their families while they travel around the country. The backstage operations of the band, the riotous concert scene and all those little details that help flesh out a story without disrupting the flow are included. D. J. Manly has penned a great m/m love story. The love at first site between Nigel and Lane is the kind of thing so many fans dream of. Somehow I don’t think many of them would have the courage the author gives Nigel when he meets his idol and finds out he‘s becoming a vampire. There’s a lot of subtle humor, jealousy to deal with and the whole vampire thing between Duriken and Lane to add a touch of suspense. The ending is a pièce de résistance of paranormal eroticism, bondage and true love. I think this is a fun book well worth the read.
