| Samantha Velmar has dealt with the degrading remarks and whispers all her life. Even as a child she got nothing but ridicule from her stepfather and now the low whispers from petite women just about anywhere she goes. Even though her self esteem is low, through the years she gained independence and likes the idea of being alone with the exception of her dog Molly. Samantha has devoted her life to her job at a bookstore, Molly, and her home. In her mind she believes this is as good as life is going to get for her, no man will ever truly love her. Not with her size, experience has proven that.
When his father passed away, Jonathan Edwards thought he would just take up where his father left off and run the family business. However, Jonathan's father had other ideas. His will left some serious restrictions on Jonathan gaining full control of the company, one of which is that he must marry by his thirtieth birthday or be forced to sell the company. Knowing time is running out, Jonathan goes to the park for a run. His answer comes to him when a frisbee smacks him in the head followed by a furry dog barreling towards him. It doesn't take him long to figure out that Samantha is everything he could ever want in a wife. But can he get past her low self-esteem and the barriers protecting her heart? And will he be able to get to them in time to not only marry the woman he loves but save the company? This is my second Rida Allen book and I must say Great Love was even better than the first! Mrs. Allen is truly talented in dealing with the real issues that real people deal with everyday. It's very plain that Great Love is written straight from the heart. The characters as well as the issues she's deals with in this story shines through. I think if Mrs. Allen keeps writing like this we'll see a lot more of her! Definitely a book I'll keep on my shelves!
