Angela Roberts was not well received when she showed up at the ranch owned, primarily, by James McMillan. The fact that Reese, his brother, had sold his 49% to Angela for gambling money just made James furious. When Angela showed him the signed deed to half his ranch, James realized that once more Reese had screwed his big brother.

Angela had never had a home or a place to belong. She was determined to learn all she could about running the ranch and fitting into the most beautiful place she had ever seen. James’ intention was to get rid of her before he became any more attracted to her.

Ms. Donna Marie Rogers has written a great story about a woman who never belonged anywhere and two brothers who had very different ideals concerning life. The only thing they had shared was James’ former fiancée. Ms. Rogers has given her main characters a certain depth and likeability. Her plot contained conflict and underhandedness but there was nothing sinister. I prefer this type storyline because I do not like intense suspense.

This book was concise and packed with the great manuscript. I had a hard time putting it down and then was sorry that I reached the end. I highly recommend it as a fabulous way to spend an afternoon.
