| Shawn Delaney is commitment challenged, which is why he goes to an adult bookstore after a long day that the office -- to find a man willing to satisfy his needs with no strings attached. Marc Wright seems to be just the man Shawn’s looking for. But then Shawn slips the younger man his number, things quickly become more serious between the two men than what either of them intend. But Shawn still has commitment issues and Marc has secrets -- secrets that could break up the budding romance between them. Shawn soon finds out that life is more complicated than he really wants it to be.
Amanda Young can always tell a story! This story comes with a moral that is subtle but still comes across quite clearly. Ms. Young starts the story off in the middle of the tale and we learn Shawn’s issues right off the bat in the prologue. The plot deals with realistic issues, taking a problem many people may face and turning it into an interesting character driven romance. Shawn’s commitment-phobia plays apart in the entire story, although as the story line gets more complicated so does Shawn’s issues. Shawn was a believable character, one who deals with real-life issues and problems. Shawn may come across as a bit self-serving in the beginning but he redeems himself time and again throughout his romance with Marc. Marc’s character seemed not so clear in the beginning but you quickly learn why as the story progresses. This slight holding back in the beginning was a smart move by Ms. Young, as it allowed for greater depth later on in the story. The romance between the two men seemed to be the driving force behind the main plot line. Amanda Young can tell a well-rounded story, one that will leave you wanting more even after it’s over.
