|Bailey Hamilton has a deadline for book seven in her Night Temptations series about Torin Kane, the vampire dark warrior, and his heroic pursuit of the evil queen of the damned, Lillianna. But Bailey's husband has just left her and the jerk seems to have given her writer's block along with the divorce papers. Torin is tired of waiting in The Realm of Imagination Green Room. His author hasn't called him to return to the page in far too long. It's time he had a talk with her. When he magically appears in her hotel room, they are both in for a shock. He is the man of her dreams, and she is his true love, but there is this tiny complication... he doesn't really exist.
What does a writer do when the hero from her imagination pops up in her bedroom with a body to die for and an attitude to match? Bailey's being pressured to write the final book in the series or risk never be published again. The divorce shredded her confidence. Torin's just the lover to stimulate her creativity. The book is a crazy romp with real life pulling Bailey one way and her fantasy lover another. The situations really heat up when her most evil villainess arrives with her own ideas. The secondary characters help the story along and are great comic relief. Her agent, Nicole, is the voice of reason urging her to get back to her writing. Lillianna and her newly created slaves... ah, human assistants... are perfect in their parts.
This is Pierson's first paranormal comedy and I'm looking forward to reading more of her work. I enjoyed the wild tale of romance, terror, and undying love. She has a very interesting imagination and can summon up horrors Stephen King wouldn't think to put together in one book. I'm not sure there is any moral to this story but you'll be too busy smiling at the antics to care. I'm sure you'll enjoy watching this author try to deal with her characters coming to life to get their own way. It's great fun.
