Julia escapes from her mob boss father with her mother’s help and changes her name to Rain. She has started her life over across the country and slowly is starting to be happy. One day Laurent and Andreas come into the diner where she works, and Laurent takes one look at her and knows she is his future. Rain is hesitant, but her feelings for Laurent are strong and she feels she can trust him. However, he hasn’t been completely honest with her, and she runs from him. He knows only he and his family can keep her safe from her father, who has started looking for her again, and he is very relieved when Rain decides to trust him and embrace his family and their lifestyle. The threat to her life is still alive though, and they have some major hurtles to cross.

All the characters were very believable with honest emotions. Even the feelings all people experience but are seldom dealt with in romance books are lovingly explored and makes you just want to go back and start reading the story all over again. Rain’s past with an abusive ex-fiancée and controlling dad have shaped her into what she is and the reader definitely will feel her stress and anger as well as her love and commitment to Laurent as she learns to trust him and his family. I hesitate to say “poor Laurent” because he is very alpha, but I couldn’t help but feel for him as he made mistakes with Laurent and had to quickly change his way of thinking on several issues.

I don’t think I’ve ever read a more engrossing and seductive erotic romance! Absolutely this book tugs on all your emotions and instills that oh so special feeling of true love and romance. I very highly recommend this book to all readers, and know that I will do some searching to see what else this author has written about the Cherchez werewolves, as well as her other books.
