Hope Carter works at a veterinary clinic. Ever since a car accident that killed her family and left her badly scarred she has been afraid of cars. It was while she was waiting for her ride home that she thought she saw a stray dog. What she sees changes her view of the world around her. She sees and is attacked by what she believes is a werewolf. She awakens in a hospital afraid that she may be going crazy. Really everyone knows werewolves do not really exist, right?

All Athair wants is to become better acquainted with the other clans, allowing his adoptive sons a chance to find mates. Trouble ensues with members of an opposing clan. Athair is left wounded and in care of the one woman that stands a chance at bringing hope to the clans if she can just conquer her fears.

Eagle Clan Series: Father of the Wolf by L. Shannon is a very sensual paranormal romance and action-packed adventure. This is the first novel in the series to involve the Valafrn-shape-shifters that change primarily into wolves. The use of mythology to give history and explanation to these creatures by L. Shannon is wonderful. The magical powers that differ from one character to another are fascinating. This makes the reader look forward to reading more books in this series to see all that is possible. The romance centers primarily on Hope and Athair. Hope has had a difficult life that has left her feeling insecure and afraid. Her bravery shows through as she pushes passed her fears for the safety of others. Athair means father in Gaelic and that describes his place in the pack. He is responsible for looking to the safety of all the other younger members without parents. This helps him to work with Hope to alleviate her fears. The chemistry between the two characters is present from the beginning and they are quick to act on their feelings. When passion becomes heated sparks fly as the two come together. I loved the interactions between the characters as they tease the couple about their romance. Things get exciting when the Eagle Clan find themselves facing their enemies. Here action comes with fangs and claws as well as the gun and knife. The scenes are described clearly as to enhance the imagination and bring the action to life. Highly creative, Father of the Wolf by L. Shannon is a thrilling action-packed paranormal adventure as well as a fast paced sensual romance.
