| Two careers—one the CEO of a family empire, the other the owner of a small, struggling business. A couple for two years, Tim Starling literally ran from Roni Dey when she mentioned marriage. That was three years ago. Now Roni’s business is thriving, even though money is still tight. Tim still worked more than sixty hours a week. Neither had forgotten the other. In fact, neither had quit loving the other.
When faced with the responsibility of representing the family company at the annual art benefit, Tim decided he needed to contact Roni and get her to attend with him. His mother’s recommendation that Roni work with a special committee gave Tim the added incentive to go see her. Though highly skeptical, Roni agreed but it definitely was going to cost Tim for her company. This book is a delightful easy read with adorable characters and an amazing supportive cast. Ms. Henderson has taken a completely different approach to the boy-girl conflict over business, personal desires and complications. Roni and Tim were both dubious about the impact that three years’ absence had on any future relationship. This author has shown in a somewhat comical way the influence of Tim’s desertion on Roni and her daily life. Tim had missed Roni for over three years. The methods he used to insinuate himself into her life again were unexpected. I enjoyed this light-hearted look at the life of two who were meant to be together. I highly recommend you read this book.
