| This is the second erotic story in the Immortality's Caress series. Eloise de Mann is a vampire over one hundred years old. She is a spunky and spirited vampire who doesn't take too kindly to men due to the hurts she has suffered from her past. The only males she tolerates are a few chosen lovers and her guardian Claude. When Eloise awakens inside a coffin she is outraged and knows it is the work of Claude. Being an unsightly mess isn't the only problem she faces. Her home is now occupied by one Christian Montgomery and she wants him out. Eloise is unable to harm him because Queen Claudia prohibits it. The only way to reclaim her home and possibly a different future will be for Eloise to seduce Christian.
Eloise is a strong female character in this sequel and she meets her match in Christian. Christian goes about enticing Eloise in ways she never thought possible. She only wants this man out of her home, but something more is at work here. The setting, dialogue, and characters are thoughtfully brought to life. The research Ms. Martin has done is apparent in this work and makes the reader feel as if they are really in Venice or France. The erotic elements add heat to the story in just the right way. I am looking forward to reading the next installment in this series.
