| Collin is having his own private memorial for the man he loved. While grieving he’s also wishing with all of his heart that he could have another chance in a better place with someone like Nyas. As they say, be careful what you wish for.
Willa Okati has written a strong story of love, loss and renewal with a definite fantasy flare. She paints Collin as a courageous man in his own right, doing what he can for those he can help in a war-torn world. Anyone who has suffered loss can feel his grief over the loss of his friend, companion and almost-lover. In the midst of his grief he’s carried away by a dragon to a peaceful, quiet, beautiful world to a dragon-man whose lover has left him. Avalier is also built as a strong man who has suffered much in life welcoming him as the lover who left him a year ago. In this instance a case of mistaken identity grows quickly to love. There is excellent m/m eroticism in this tale. There isn’t a lot of dragon lore, just a great story of two men who have both lost someone they loved finding love again. This is a great read.
