Now that her best friend and brother are in a relationship, Cat Thomas sort of feels like she's a third wheel until Shane Decker walks back into her life and has set his sights on finally winning her heart. However, she's not interested in forever after.

Shane Decker has finally returned to his hometown for good so he can be close to his friends and family once more. But his main reason is to see if Cat is ready to give a relationship between them a chance. However, she does everything in her power to see him happy with someone else by helping him find women through an online dating service.

From the start of this book, I was drawn in by the amazing plot because that had Cat doing everything in her power to show Shane that they were all wrong for each other. However, Shane had the patience of a saint and wasn't about to give up on her. The dialogue was great, providing some laughs throughout which I believed was Cat's way of keeping her distance. The sex scenes were steamy and full of passion because their attraction for each other had been between them for years. What I liked so much about Cat was her stubbornness, yet in the end it didn't save her from being able to stay away from Shane like she thought. While with the hero, I loved how patient he was with Cat and that he wouldn't give up on being with her. Then again, if you love someone you should never give up hope that in the end you'll find a way to be with that person.

Overall, Ms. Bell has again proven herself to be a great writer with this second book in her Dare Me series. I would recommend this book, but first I suggest readers seek out the first book -- Down for the Count -- which is the story of Cat's best friend and her brother whom are excellent secondary characters in this story.
