Bree is back home after spending the past year and a half in Europe, trying to cope with the loss of her husband and best friend. When she finds out her mother-in-law has been swindled by an investor, she vows to do everything in her power to get the money back. Her snooping leads her to Finn, a private investigator, and his current case coincides with Bree tracking down the crooked investor. Their attraction to each other is instantaneous, but neither knows just who the other one is. Once they find out they are from rival families, can their relationship grow or will it fail?

I really enjoyed this book. It was fun, light-hearted, and also had a bit of a mystery that the author did a good job of crafting. The dialogue between the characters and the supporting characters was entertaining and snappy. The whole story flowed very smoothly and kept my interest throughout. Bree’s pain over losing her best friend was very real as well as her more adult feelings for Finn. The author took this into consideration and allowed the sexual tension to build between Bree and Finn until neither could stay away from the other. I’m a sucker for a series, and this one didn’t disappoint in that regard. Characters from the first book were in this book as well with glimpses into how their lives are evolving. The touch of magic used by the families added the final bit of fun to this story. I highly recommend this book and hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
