Finding MacKensie inside his locked dungeon has Alex Fontaine upset. It doesn't matter that he returned home early, she needed to be punished. But by punishing MacKensie, his curiosity and protective desires are aroused. To keep a wary MacKensie close, Alex strikes a deal. She will stay at his house and he will help her with finding a job in exchange for acting as his submissive. He didn't, however plan on his contradictory little sub getting underneath his skin and into his heart. Once again, the exceptionally talented Cherise Sinclair has created an absolutely breathtaking story that will touch both the reader's heart and soul. This author's red hot streak continues with this flawlessly plotted tale filled with vibrant characters and emotionally and sexually charged tension creating a riveting read to enjoy. It's a true treat to follow the sexual and emotional liberation of her deeply battered and bruised inner soul as Alex patiently and expertly guides and draws her into situations that not only push her but work to heal the woman within. With every novel, the author's characters reveal the psychological as well as physical components of D/s relationships which seem to make the story seem much more real and compelling. MacKensie is a feisty and formidable heroine with an underlying vulnerability that makes her appealing to the reader. Alex is a caring, considerate and tough dominant hero who readers can't help falling in love with -- or at least some heavy lust. Between these two characters, trust is tested and the elements of guilt, shame and fear make the action and emotions even more soul searing. The simmering heat and enchanting sensuality of each sex scene is some of the most arousing the reader will ever read. Each BDSM scene works well to evolve the character relationship enhancing the bond that exists between them. Nicely developed secondary characters are a delight to the plot as well as to Alex and MacKensie. I dare any reader to have a dry eye at the end of this enchanting story. This author should be at the top of every reader's favorite list!
