I loved most of the story line in Doing Time but there is a huge twist in the tale that takes the story where I wasn’t expecting it to go. I didn’t like the twist! The characters of Gavin and Charity are fun, independent, intelligent, strong willed, sarcastic, smart-mouthed, loyal, and determined; what is not to love. The story line is unique and creative. I really like the idea of the Time Dancers who can travel back in time and fix rips and tears in the time stream to prevent problems with time overlaps or ripples that might affect the world as we know it. Of course, there are also demons that want the time stream to tear because they thrive on chaos and this time Lucifer seems to be behind the massive rip that could destroy the world. Even though I didn’t like the unexpected twist in the story, I gave it the full 5 hearts because it is still an excellent tale and a wonderful beginning for a new series. I always appreciate an author finding a new paranormal story idea and creating something very entertaining from that idea. I can’t wait for the next book to see what Ms. McIntyre comes up with next!
