| Mary Jane is almost a cliché. She was Miss Cornhusker, once upon a time. But now she is a rejected ex-wife and single mother, hooked on chocolate, and forced into therapy with the woman who was once her runner up in the beauty pageant. Besides chocolate, the only thing keeping her going is the mysterious stranger who appears in her dreams and makes her heart race and her imagination run wild.
Mary Jane, who rumor has it is going through "the change", is a very easy character to identify with. And who wouldn't like a mysterious stranger to lift them out of the humdrum and into a world of passion. Particularly when she has been dumped so hard by her ex and left behind with the tattered remants of the life they had together...and all of the responsibilities. Ash, the man who lures Mary Jane away, is a shadowy character who is defnitely more than he seems. And even though there were hints of darkness, the reader can't help but want Mary Jane to explore what he offers. I must admit I didn't like the title, because I thought the story was more than it implied. That's my only complaint. I hope C.R. Moss will write more about Mary Jane, because she opened too many interesting doors to not continue on into the rooms and see what is there. But definitely read this story, it's a quick read, but a fascinating one.
