Abandoned by her Border Patrol partner, Kaitlin Harrington is captured by a group of men escorting illegals across the border from Mexico. One of her captors, Miguel Carrera, peaks her interest in a way she never thought would be possible again after her ex lover abused and deserted her. His gentleness toward the mother as he helps Kaitlin deliver a baby on Christmas Eve helps her believe she doesn't have to give up on all men.

Vijaya Schartz pens a great love story for Christmas or any time of the year. Kaitlin and Miguel are developed as excellent examples of people who remain true to their profession even when it may be easier not to. Josh, Will and Bob are poor excuses for men as they betray not only Kaitlin but others to make some easy money. Turns out not to be as lucrative or as easy as they'd hoped.

The author walks a fine line with sensitivity over the issues facing people in Mexico who take the chance of becoming illegal immigrants and legalities involved. The tale is well crafted filled with romance and suspense. It's a great read.
