| I know as a child you have all heard of Death. He’s the grim reaper who comes and takes you away when you die. Well this story tells a different side of Death. One would go so far as to say, the human side.
One night while collecting souls, Death meets a girl. Her name is Tawny and she is telling her grandmother goodbye for the last time. Normally mortals can’t see him, but this little girl not only sees him, she speaks to him as well. Tawny tells Death, “My grandma says you’ll be coming back for me“. This is the start of a beautiful love story. Tawny is now a young woman and Death has come for her. Death had made a pack with the powers above him. Everything, everything rests in Tawny’s hands now. No not in her hands, but in her heart. Tawny also knows that once she decides there will be no turning back. Ask yourself this question. Can Death, the collector of souls, have a human side? Could it be possible that he may even have a heart? Tawny takes a waltz with Death and dances into her future. This is a short story with a big impact. Everybody likes to see the bad boy turn good. They like to see the demon find a soul. Mari Byrne has given us another look at the dark side. She has written a wonderful story. It is one of the most passionate, sensual fantasies I’ve read in some time. I enjoyed every single word. Ms Byrne gives the reader a very vivid love story and the belief that all things are possible. I recommend you get this book. You will read it again and again.
