Somebody is kidnapping college aged kids for the ransom and the FBI doesn't have many clues. Special Agent Samantha is trying to escape from her past by seeking out Max, a stranger, for a little recreational sex when the kidnapper strikes Max's family. Samantha has to tell Max who she is and deal with his anger when they both know the kidnapper turns into a killer when the police are involved.

There is no way to adequately tell how intense this book is. Explosive action from well rounded characters held my interest until the very end. Samantha was a heroine you wanted to root for because she was trying so hard to overcome a terrifying experience. I loved how Max drew her out and subtly helped her deal with it. Max, yummy yummy Max, thrown into a situation without having all the facts and was still a strong hero who didn't let Samantha down. The fast paced plot was full of blood pumping suspense. There was no chance to stop reading because you were drawn into the conflict from page one and carried right along with the action. The sex scenes were very intense, and while they started out as being a way to relieve some stress, they very quickly turned into sensual lovemaking –sometimes tender, sometimes fiierce, but always with their true feelings shining through! My only disappointment was that the book had to end! I highly recommend this book, and the two previous (Deadly Fear and Deadly Heat). Deadly Lies will stand on its on but trust me, you don't want to miss any book in this series!
