Victorian England -- when society only appeared to be civil...

Serena Cunningham did not trust Dominic Westcroft since she was almost certain he had brutally slaughtered her sister, his first wife, in a fit of jealous rage. She was out to prove he was the cold-blooded killer she believed him to be. All she needed was the opportunity.

Though found not guilty by the wizard’s council and a jury, Dominic Westcroft still didn’t know if the panther he shifted into at moments of danger or passion had been responsible for his wife’s brutal murder. And until he knew for certain whether the beast that claimed a part of his being was innocent of the crime, he had no intention of allowing another woman into his life-no matter how deeply he was attracted to her.

I loved this story. Kathryn Blake did a great job of creating complex and compelling characters. They were very well developed with a depth that made them real. The dialogue was well written, I got so caught up that I actually forgot I was reading a book a few times. I found myself just totally immersed in the story. The story line was great as well. Just overall the story was so interesting that I got annoyed with myself when I needed to put the book down to do something. I am truly looking forward to reading more of her work and I highly recommend this book to any lovers of paranormal romance! It was great!
