The pull of attraction is evident from the first time Alec and Carmen meet, though neither really wants to get involved. But Alec’s strong protective instincts will not let him allow Carmen to be used as a pawn by her father and uncle. His dominant personality is part of what draws Carmen to him and when she ends up staying at his house, their attraction grows. Her empathic abilities make her the perfect match for Alec because it allows her to understand him in a way he won’t let anyone else. Even with all the obstacles, their need for each other is extremely strong and explosive. Sparks fly whenever they’re together and the passion between them burns bright. They are strong enough together to face the challenges of wolf shifter politics both have been trying to avoid.

This is a wonderful addition to the Southern Arana series. Moira Rogers has written a gripping tale full of great characters, some old and some new. Though Alec and Carmen are certainly the focus, the secondary characters really keep the story flowing. All of the books in the series can be read on their own, but it’s hard to imagine not wanting to read all of them after meeting the characters. Everything about his book, and series, is fantastic and will leave readers anxious for the next story.
