Regaining consciousness and finding herself naked in a strange bed is the last thing that Billie Joyce expects after being stabbed and left for dead. She didn't count on meeting the overbearing Daniel, whose bed she's in, either. Finding out that there are such beings as vampires and she's now one is enough to make girl insane, especially one who faints at the sight of blood.

Daniel finds his new houseguest annoying to the extreme, especially since he can't understand half of what she's saying. He thought his friend's wife was irritating, but Billie, who insists on being called Billie Joyce, tops even her. But despite this, Daniel desires her and for the first time in many years, he considers a long term relationship.

DEAD Faint is a witty and rather amusing story. You have a country girl who is thrust into a frightening situation the very first time away from the only home she's known. She has no choice but to make the best of things but in turn, she makes new friendships and gains great pleasure from riling Daniel. Formerly from England, Daniel is set in his ways and finds just about everything annoying. Being English I can relate.

Much of this novel is taken up with witty dialogue and snappy comebacks, which I found amusing, but somewhat confusing at times. That caused the story to slow for me. Characters from Waking Up Dead featured prominently and, in my opinion, didn't allow for much development between Billie Joyce and Daniel. On the other hand, the interaction between the main four characters was at times enjoyable and entertaining. All the characters are fun, though I particularly enjoyed the girls, whose growing friendship and antics had me laughing throughout. Despite my wish to see more character development and lessconfusion, I did find DEAD Faint a light, fun, and entertaining book. Definitely, worth reading if you are feeling a bit low.
